Duties include fire origin and cause determination, case follow-up and case consultation for insurers and attorneys serving primarily the insurance industry.

October 1973 - June 2000, April 1982 - June 2000: Austin Fire Dept. - Fire/Arson Investigator
Duties included investigation of fires as to origin and cause. Conducted complete investigations, including origin and cause, evidence collection, scene diagrams, scene photography, witness interviews and suspect interrogation. Prepared reports for possible criminal prosecution and presented to District Attorney's Office. Testified in many criminal and civil proceedings.

November 1981 - April 1982: Austin Fire Dept. - Fire Inspector
Duties included inspection of public occupancy buildings for possible fire code violations.

August 1977 - November 1981: Austin Fire Dept. - Specialist (Driver)
Duties included driving and maintaining fire apparatus, pumping operations and assisting with fire fighting operations at fire scene. In the absence of the Company Officer was in charge of Engine Company, directing fire fighting and rescue operations.

October 1973 - August 1977: Austin Fire Dept. - Firefighter
Duties included fire fighting, overhaul and salvage operations and assisted with maintaining fire fighting equipment and apparatus.
